United Way of Marathon County is making one last push this week to raise enough money to fully fund programs in 2009.

Local businesses sponsored live radio broadcasts today and volunteers are on a blitz to get new donors.United Way needs to raise $50,000 by the end of the year to meet its $3.15 million goal, executive director Joanne Kelly said.Already this week the agency has raised about $10,000. All donations are being matched by Esther Greenheck, up to $50,000, which means the United Way needs just $15,000 more to reach that goal.Web users interested in donating can visit unitedwaymc.org and click “Give.”
